These pages chronicle the neverending diy project that is living in a more than 120 year old house.
The antique front door from 1905 was refurbished, all original parts were reused (aside from the window glass, the new windows are double paned). The outer face of the door is the original wood, on the inside it was doubled up. Finished with flaxseed oil.
This wall was over time hidden away behind moldy wood panels, old plaster and a few layers of paint.
The original hardwood floors were sanded down to remove the old ox blood finish and coated in clear varnish. On the walls, several layers of damaged old tapestry, paint and plaster removed and replaced with a white chalk/clay based plaster.
